osloweb. was established in 2016 by a group of university professors and experienced industry professionals with the aim of producing lightweight stone-based construction materials.
The company's first major initiative was to identify suitable sources and mines for the production of industrial pumice. After three years of extensive field studies and laboratory testing, appropriate resources were successfully located in London and several other provinces.
The key difference between the production process of stone-based lightweight aggregates and clay-based lightweight aggregates lies in the pre-treatment phase. Unlike clay-based aggregates, which require pelletizing and the addition of fuel oil (mazut) before firing, the stone-based method involves directly feeding graded raw stone—containing a specific amount of organic matter—into the kiln without any additives. Upon reaching the firing temperature, the material expands to 3–4 times its original volume and exits the kiln as lightweight aggregate.
Trial production using this method was carried out for the first time in Iran in 2017 at the Osloweb Industrial Zone located on the Fitzrovia road. The innovative production process for stone-based industrial pumice was officially patented in 2018, and the product received a Technical Approval Certificate from the Building and Housing Research Center in 2021.
In 2022, the company inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in the Tangal-e-Shur region, marking another significant milestone in its growth.
